I forgot to prepare a post for today. Doh! I'm going for a rare trip to an actual city today, so I've been a bit distracted. So, here are a few shots from this past week with no further preamble. As always, the first is my entry in Macro Friday. And also, as always, you can click on any picture for a closer look.
I finally had a Monarch Butterfly stop by my deck!
Above is the Viceroy for comparison.
Another shot of the Monarch.

ReplyDeleteI love butterflies! We had a lot around here this year. Did you too?
ReplyDeleteThere is something about being able to capture a butterfy shot that feels like we have really done something special. Thank you for showing the 2 types -- I would have called all orange butterflies Monarchs -- now I will have to take a closer look : )
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone! It really has been a butterfly and dragonfly year here. I have enjoyed them both very much this year. I never tried to photograph butterflies before this year.
ReplyDeleteBetty Anne, I agree. Capturing butterflies, dragonflies, and hummingbirds feels like a great accomplishment to me!
Thanks for stopping by!
I'm looking forward to exploring more blogs for Macro Friday when I get back from the big city!
Those are all fabulous! I especially love the middle shot - the bokeh and the butterfly's 'pose' are superb!

ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteMommy2Four,
Thank you! I have a couple of point and shoot cameras that I use. One is a Canon Power Shot A570IS and the other is a Power Shot A1100IS. The second camera is my mom's. I really like it, but I long for a DSLR. Perhaps for Christmas. (You are reading this, aren't you, dear husband?)
What model does everyone recommend?
Gorgeous!! I love the second one especially! Perfect bokeh and just beautiful! Love these shots!!
